BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS IN SHENZHEN AND .... IN FLIGHT
Over the course of his many trips, holidays and travels around the world, Jean Jacques Cattier has had the opportunity to celebrate a few birthdays in countries and on continents far from home. Some of the more distant destinations include the Kerguelen Islands, Auckland (New Zealand), Rio de Janeiro, Hong Kong and, on 10 June, Shenzhen.
A small ‘family’ celebration with the arrival of Alexandre on the same day, and a friendly get-together with our Chinese friends and partners. Dinner was planned in a beautiful French restaurant called ‘l’Avenue’, which of course had a wine list featuring Cattier champagnes.
The birthday cake was just right for the occasion.
It was actually the second birthday cake of the day.
In a friendly and cheeky gesture from the Chinese airline Juneyao Airlines, which flew us from Shanghai to Shenzhen that very morning, Jean Jacques Cattier was probably the only passenger on board to receive a visit from a smiling stewardess bringing him a cake with a Chinese inscription on it which, when translated, meant: Happy Birthday.
The server databases had undoubtedly highlighted the fact that the 2 dates matched at the time of boarding.
The morning cake was certainly not as imposing as the evening one, nor was it accompanied by a glass of Cattier champagne. However, a big thank you to Juneyao Airlines for this special (and tasty!) gesture.
