Magnum Blanc de Blancs Millésime 2018 Brut Premier Cru

Generous and Elegant

In 2025 the Cattier family is celebrating a very special anniversary: 400 years of family winemaking tradition. To mark this historic anniversary, Maison Cattier unveils an exclusive cuvée: the Blanc de Blancs Millésime 2018 Premier Cru Magnum. Crafted solely from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the Montagne de Reims, and available only in magnum format, this 2018 vintage has benefited from six years of aging on lees in the deep cellars of Rilly-la-Montagne. This extended aging imparts remarkable aromatic complexity and exceptional finesse of bubbles. This special 400th anniversary cuvée was produced in a limited edition (500 magnums) and presented in an exclusive gift box.

Magnum Blanc de Blancs Millésime 2018 Brut Premier Cru Description

Description

Eyes : Eyes : pale yellow robe with silver reflections is laced with a fine and elegant effervescence in the glass.

Nose : Nose : delicate aromas of cedar, peach compote and candied pineapple open onto exotic notes of lychee. Violet and white flowers add floral freshness, enhanced by a subtle minerality of chalk. On the palate, greedy custard sweetness mingles with fine nuances of golden brioche and toast crust.

Palate : Palate : opens with fresh notes of candied lemon, orange blossom and butter, followed by pine, hazelnut and marzipan. The full, persistent finish is enriched by candied pear, brioche and a smoky, flinty aftertaste.

Magnum Blanc de Blancs Millésime 2018 Brut Premier Cru Food pairings

Food pairings

This wine pairs beautifully with poultry or rabbit in a creamy mushroom sauce. On the seafood side, it will complement roasted sea bass or turbot with a lightly lemony butter sauce. It will reveal its full richness alongside foie gras or duck confit, and harmonize wonderfully with the creamy strength of Fourme d’Ambert cheese.
