Covering just 2.2 hectares, the Clos du Moulin is one of Champagne’s two historic walled vineyards and is located on the sunny slopes of the Montagne de Reims near Chigny-les-Roses. The Clos du Moulin Rosé is a single-vineyard champagne and an expression of elegance and fruit. Each bottle has its own unique number.

56 % Chardonnay 44 % Pinot Noir (Including 65% from the 2018 base vintage and 35% from the perpetual reserve). A blended rosé, made by adding 18% red wine.

Description

Eyes : The color is a slightly brick-tinged rosé, with a deep hue and very delicate effervescence.

Nose : Rich and intense, with notes of red fruits (raspberry, cherry, pomegranate), enhanced by blood orange, papaya, blackberry tart, and marzipan. With time, it evolves toward notes of toasted almonds, thyme, dried flowers, and dark chocolate.

Palate : Full and generous. A beautiful tannic structure supports flavors of black cherry, wild berries, blackberry, and blood orange. Additional notes of bergamot, toasted almonds, blond tobacco, and gingerbread emerge. It finishes with lovely fresh and tangy notes.

Food pairings

This is a gastronomic rosé with character, pairing perfectly with pink meats such as lamb or duck. It also complements certain shellfish, such as langoustine. It can accompany and enhance desserts made with candied citrus fruits.
