Champagne & Cheese : Royal Wedding in England !
Accompanying the tasting of a cheese with a red or white wine is a gastronomic evidence. However combining champagne and cheese is more innovative.
Its acidity and elegance contribute perfectly to balancing the richness and sometimes also the salty side of the cheeses.
We had developed agreements ("accords mets&vins") with French cheeses two years ago. This time, we decided to explore foreign cheeses.
To begin this journey, we chose the United Kingdom, the 1st country consuming champagne after France.
We worked with the British Cheese Board to select 5 cheeses in perfect harmony with 5 of our cuvées.
Passionate about this theme, the famous wine bar of Sheffiel, West 10, received us on March 31 for an evening in which the participants were able to put their taste buds in the boiling with the fallowing agreements:
- Cattier Brut Antique : Irish goat
- Cattier Brut Vinothèque 2007: Tasty Lancashire
- Cattier Brut Blanc de Noirs : Vintage cheddar
- Cattier Brut Rosé 1er Cru: Red Leicester
- Cattier Glamour Rosé: Cornish Blue
To be followed at the next stop in a new country.
